A few weeks ago I wrote about an effort to have Glacier National Park's status as a World Heritage Site declared "endangered" because global warming is causing the park's glaciers to recede.
Well, it turns out that the request has spanned the ocean and made it to Paris, the home of the U.N. Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, which presides over World Heritage Sites.
Next week, according to a story in the Missoulian newspaper, a UNESCO panel will discuss the petition that the park's status be officially labeled "endangered." Should be an interesting discussion, no?
