Dr. Houck Medford, executive director of the Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation, has penned a thoughtful piece on the current state of national park funding and the role of philanthropy.
While much of what he said -- parks are underfunded, poor federal funding could scare away potential donors -- has been said before, Mr. Medford lays down a cogent argument for more public support of the national park system. You can read his thoughts here.
