Yellowstone Fire Forces Trail Closures

Fire names are always intriguing concoctions, stemming from location, animals, odd circumstances connected with a blaze and what not.
Earlier this summer Yellowstone officials came up with quite the name for a fire burning about 19 miles southeast of Tower Junction -- the Stinky Fire. I'm not exactly sure how that tag was attached, but it no doubt had something to do with the olfactory senses.
Nonetheless, the Stinky Fire it is. Currently burning across more than 1,000 acres, the fire has gotten close enough to some backcountry trails that Yellowstone officials have shut them down. For the time-being, the Miller Creek, Canoe Lake, Bootjack Gap and Hoodoo Basin trails and their affiliated campsites have been closed.
