Yosemite Visitor Falls to His Death

There's been another falling death in Yosemite, though this one involved a hiker, not a climber.
In the latest incident, a 28-year-old Missouri man fell about 400 feet from the Grizzly Peak area just east of the John Muir Trailhead in the Merced River Canyon above Yosemite Valley.
Patrick Watt was last seen this past Saturday before scrambling up the Grizzly Peak Gully by himself. On Sunday, rangers went in search of him after he failed to return from his hike.
Ground searchers found Watt’s body southeast of Grizzly Peak above the tree line between Vernal Fall and the Vernal Fall foot bridge.

Pat had 4 childern 3,6 ,9 and a newborn and awonderful wife. He will be missed by all. As a friend his death was hard on all.He was a good man and ahard worker. He would have wanted the best for all he left behind.

Patrick died in the place he loved most - Yosemite held so many memories for him. Now, memories are all that he has left behind for us. A better friend I'll never find. Farewell.

RIP to my wonderful Brother n Law...u are truely missed an will always be in our hearts...Ur the best brother n law I couldve ever asked for. Memories are for always an forever.
