Come April it will have been a year since a massive landslide closed access to Yosemite from the west. And considering the latest reports out of California, it could be quite a while before complete access to the park via California 140 is resumed.
While the landslides that covered the road last spring seem to have stabilized, California Department of Transportation officials say it could be years before a permanent solution is reached to prevent future slides across the highway that runs through El Portal and to the park's Arch Rock Entrance.
