Has Winter's Unusually Cold Weather Tamped Down Python Population in Everglades National Park?

Has this winter's unusually cold weather in Florida tamped down the python population in Everglades National Park?

That's the question that CNN looked into the other day, and their report comes to the conclusion that the cold wiped out 40 percent or so of the Everglades' pythons. If so, that'd be good news at a time when Interior Secretary Ken Salazar is calling for pythons and other constrictors to be banned from the United States.

While the Interior secretary made the call back in January in reaction to the snake problem in the Everglades, he never came out with a plan of attack for ridding the park of snakes already there.

Perhaps the weather is taking care of that job.
