Plan now to attend the 30th annual Blue Ridge Discovery Weekend and safe some cash.

May is still a good way off, but now's the time to get lined up to attend the 30th Annual Blue Ridge Discovery Weekend in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina.

Hosting the annual get-together will be the staffs of the Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation and Discovery Place, a non-profit focused on educating kids of all ages in both the natural and social worlds.

The weekend event, based at the Wildacres Retreat at Little Switzerland, North Carolina, along the Blue Ridge Parkway, will revolve around presentations and activities led by naturalists from Discovery Place as well as nationally known hosts, such as Patrick McMillan, whose Expeditions with Patrick McMillan series is carried by PBS.

On the agenda are hikes, both during the day and at night; learning "how to look" for things in nature, as well as what to look for; and, of course, talks by expert naturalists.

The all-inclusive price includes accommodations, meals (including social hours) and all activities.

Travel Dates: May 27 – 29, 2011
Cost: Adults $285.00
Kids (age 12 and younger) $170
