AARP Recognizes Eastern National As Great Place For Workers Over 50 Years Old

Finding a good employer can be tough to do, particularly when the job market is so tight. But for workers over age 50, jobs with Eastern National are great to land, according to AARP.

The American Association of Retired Persons recently honored Eastern National as being one of the Best Employers for Workers Over 50 in 2011. Now in its 10th year, this program recognizes organizations that have demonstrated exemplary practices for recruiting, retaining and promoting older workers.

The AARP Best Employers for Workers Over 50 program awards businesses and organizations that have implemented new and innovative policies and best practices in talent management. These organizations are creating roadmaps for others on how to attract and retain top talent in today's multigenerational workforce.

“Eastern National is extremely honored to receive this award. We believe that our employees are our most valuable assets, and we strive to create and maintain a family-like work environment,” said George Minnucci, the association's CEO. “We feel that this philosophy has played a vital role in the success of our organization.”

Eastern National is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) cooperating association whose mission is to promote the public’s understanding and appreciation of America’s national parks and other public trusts.

Operating educational and interpretive bookstores in over 150 national parks on the eastern part of the United States, Eastern National donates its profits from these operations to aid the interpretive, scientific and historical mission of the National Park Service and other public trust partners. Since its founding in 1947, Eastern National has donated over $105 million to the National Park Service.
