Facilities Closing For the Winter At Mammoth Cave National Park

While the cave and its tours will remain open, many of the above-ground facilities at Mammoth Cave National Park are shutting down for the winter.
The ferry boat at Houchin Ferry will operate through Saturday, December 3, closing at the end of shift at 6 p.m. The ferry service will resume in March 2012.

Maple Springs Group Campground, Mammoth Cave Campground (near the Visitor Center), and the Visitor Center Picnic Area will be closed December 1 through February 29, 2012.

The primitive campground and picnic area at Houchin Ferry will remain open through the winter months. Backcountry camping on the north side of Green River will also be available through the winter months.
