Lend A Buck, Or More, To North Cascades Institute On May 2

Share

Connecting youth with North Cascades National Park is the goal of a fund-raising campaign on Wednesday that lets you donate to the North Cascades Institute and watch your donation grow through matching funds.

The campaign is being run through the Seattle Foundation, a community-based nonprofit whose goal is "to create a healthy community through engaged philanthropy, community knowledge and leadership. We inspire informed and generous giving to make our community—local, national and international—a vital and healthy place to live."

Wednesday is perhaps the biggest charitable-giving day of the year in the Pacific Northwest thanks to the Seattle Foundation's annual GiveBIG event. Plan on rallying your friends and supporting your favorite Pacific Northwest charity (the North Cascades Institute!). Every donation received on that day will be stretched by The Seattle Foundation – so it’s the perfect day to make a donation and multiply the impact of your gift!

Last year, supporters helped the Institute raise more than $11,000 to support youth outdoor education.

Your gift will help more than 200 teenagers participate in our summer youth programs in the North Cascades – including Cascades Climate Challenge, North Cascades Wild and our Youth Leadership Conference – and more than 1,000 young people attend Mountain School this coming fall. These kids simply would not have the opportunity to learn about the environment – and go home to teach others – without your support.

All donations to North Cascades Institute on GiveBIG day must be made with a credit/debit card through our profile on The Seattle Foundation's online Giving Center on May 2 – by donating to this Institute this way, your donation will be stretched even further by The Seattle Foundation.

As an aside, if you haven't “liked” the Institute yet on Facebook, please do.
