Cumberland Island National Seashore To Reopen Saturday After Storm Cleanup

Share

With Tropical Storm Beryl having come and gone, it will take until Saturday for crews to clean up Cumberland Island National Seashore along Georgia's coast so it can reopen to the public.

“The national seashore staff has begun cleaning up downed trees and ensuring that the park is ready once again for park visitors,” says Superintendent Fred Boyles. “The campgrounds at Sea Camp and Stafford Beach will also re-open on Saturday. However, visitors hiking on some of the trails might still encounter downed trees across the trails. The Land and Legacy tours will start running again on Saturday.”

Visitors with ferry and camping reservations through June 1 should contact the ferry reservation office at 877-860-6787 for rescheduling or for refunds. For other general park questions, visitors can call the park at 912-882-4336, extension 254.
