Woman Falls To Her Death In Rocky Mountain National Park

A 50-year-old Colorado woman out hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park was killed when she fell about 40-50 feet down Deer Mountain, according to park officials.

The woman, Toni B. Henthorn of Highlands Ranch, was hiking with a family member about 3 miles from the Deer Mountain Trailhead in a steep, rocky section when she fell Saturday evening shortly before 6 p.m., park officials said.

Park rangers reached her body at 8:10 p.m. Rangers stayed with her body on Saturday night and into Sunday. Her body was flown from the area at 4:45 p.m. on Sunday and transferred to the Larimer County Coroner.
