Reader Participation Day: What Would Be Your Park Destination Of Choice For The Holidays?

If you could ask Santa for the chance to spend part of the upcoming holiday season in any National Park Service area, where would you go—and what would you do?

Even during the winter, there are plenty of choices, in places both frosty and sunny.

Would you go cross-country skiing and snowshoeing at Grand Teton National Park or relax in luxury lodging at the Ahwahnee Hotel in Yosemite National Park?

How about some time on the beach at Virgin Islands National Park, or for a truly unusual tropical get-away, would you like a trip to National Park of American Samoa?

The wish list is open, so Santa hopes you've been nice! What are your choices?

Surprised I'm the first.

I'd go with Haleakala NP. I've always wanted to see it, and it's hard to think of anything more perfect than Christmas on Maui!

New Year's Eve at Yellowstone with the National Parks Conservation Association. All that snow -- not what we're used to here in Coastal Virginia!

Not much of a winter person, so I have to opt for Virgin Islands National Park. The snorkeling, kayaking, windsurfing.... We are doing Puerto Rico instead with a visit to San Juan NHS instead but I would so rather be in the Virgin Islands

I've wished for a long time that I could afford to go to Yellowstone in the wintertime, but it's out of my budget. Maybe someday.

Zion is wonderful in the wintertime -- I wouldn't mind going back there, too.
