The Eva B. is just about ready to be returned to San Francisco Bay/David and Kay Scott

San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park will sponsor a reception and open house February 27 to celebrate the nearing completion of the restoration of the Eva B.

The boat was built in 1936 by Sausalito craftsman Menotti Pasquinucci to accommodate a family of six to cruise San Francisco Bay. The reception will allow the public to discuss the Eva B. with the volunteers and National Park Service personnel who have worked on the restoration during the past five years. Music and light refreshments will be available at the reception, which will take place from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Hyde Street Pier in the Fisherman's Wharf area.

The boat's rechristening and launch is scheduled for April 11. The NPS boat shop has restored numerous ships and boats, many of which are on display along the pier. The boat shop also partners with and does work for other museums and parks. The national historical park has a number of interesting ships and boats moored along the pier, many of which are open to visitors.
