Every Kid In A Park Gets You A Lift Pass At Yosemite's Badger Pass Ski Area

With Pacific storms rolling into California and dumping snow in the High Sierra, prospects for skiing this winter at Badger Pass in Yosemite National Park are increasing. And if you're in fourth grade you can score a free lift pass to to the ski area and get a discount on passes for your family.

Badger Pass officials say those fourth graders who have received an Every Kid in a Park pass to the national parks can get a lift ticket by presenting their pass at the ski area. And they and their family also qualify for a 25 percent discount towards equipment rentals and lift tickets for their family members. The Every Kid in a Park offer at Badger Pass Ski Area is valid through February 29, 2016.

Badger Pass Ski Area opened in 1935 and it is known as one of the best ski destinations in California for families. With 10 slope runs and five convenient lifts, families can experience a winter getaway in Yosemite National Park with memorable and fun-filled activities including skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing and snow tubing.

Conditions, permitting, Badger Pass Ski Area is scheduled to open December 11. The ski area received two feet of snow from recent two storms. Season passes and discounted ski and lodging packages are available at www.BadgerPass.com. Visit www.everykidinapark.gov for more information about the Every Kid in a Park initiative and how fourth grader students can obtain a pass for free entry to more than 2,000 federally managed lands and waters nationwide for an entire year.

More information will be available soon, but concessioners across the nation are embracing Every Kid in a Park and its efforts to help every 4th graders discovering learning and fun in the outdoors.  Concessioner efforts will include support for school visits, for visits by 4th graders with their families and visits to parks by youth organizations with Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts.  To demonstrate the broad support for this program, note that the recently released Federal Lands Recreation Enhancement Modernization Act draft in the House included a provision making this White House initiative permanent.
