Couple Wanted In Connection With Grand Canyon National Park Vandalism Located

Share

A couple wanted in connection with vandalism at Grand Canyon National Park has been located by National Park Service investigators.

On May 22, 2016, a visitor at the South Rim of the park observed a couple spray painting graffiti, and was able to capture images of the people and the vandalism, according to a park release. After painting "Evans 16" on a rock feature, the couple left before park rangers could contact them.

On Wednesday the Service's Investigative Services Branch announced that the couple had been located, adding that "because this is still an open, continuing case, no further details are available at this time."

Well, DO something to them this time.

Unfortunately, vandalism of this sort is a misdemeanor.  But just maybe, maybe, the magistrate might include a few hundred hours of serious public service in the sentence.  Spending a week or two of full time litter clean-up might be a very appropriate lesson.

Two weeks, transportation and expenses are on the convicted, litter cleanup and grafiti removal and a hot location. NPS has plenty of them
