Minute Man National Historical Park To Reopen The Wayside

At Minute Man National Historical Park, the Wayside, home to some of America's literary greats, is reopening after being closed for renovations/NPS

At Minute Man National Historical Park in Massachusetts the Wayside, home to three literary families, will reopen to the public on Saturday beginning at 11 a.m.

Park rangers are inviting everyone to take part in the event. Meet Margaret Lothrop, Nathaniel Hawthorne, and Louisa May Alcott and tour the house, which has been closed for three years for major rennovations. Guests will also have the opportunity to preview a sneak peek of the film, Half the History: The Wayside, done by the Tufts University students who showcase the house and its stories as told through Margaret's eyes.

Saturday, June 25th Reopening Events

11 a.m. Program will begin with opening remarks by Superintendent Nancy Nelson.

11:30 a.m., Meet Margaret Lothrop (portrayed by Jane Sciacca), who will lead the first tour of thehouse.

11:30 a.m. Refreshments by Friends of Minute Man National Park.

Noon-5:30 p.m. Open House

Admission is free Saturday June 25.

Regular hours beginning Sunday June 26: Wayside will be open Thursday-Monday 9:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m.; Sunday 11:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. through August 13 (closed Tuesday and Wednesday); August 14-October 30 Sunday, Monday, and Friday 8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m.

Tours: 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m., 4:30 p.m.; Sunday 1 p.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m., 4:30 p.m.

Admission: Adults $7, seniors and students 17 and over $5, children 16 and under free.

An address for the house would be helpful on this item. I'm familiar with most of the historic houses around Concord, and this isn't the Alcott house, right? So this is some other house, which is not marked as "The Wayside" on the map, and which isn't the Wayside Inn a few miles up the way either, so... it has an address, because it's on a street somewhere, so please add that to the item, and add the building under this name to your .pdf map linked at the website.
