Anhinga Trail In Everglades National Park Could Open Later This Month

The popular Anhinga Trail in Everglades National Park should reopen later this month after extensive repairs/NPS

Everglades National Park officials hope to reopen the popular Anhinga Trail to visitors later this month.

Back in April the park staff began work on rebuilding the trail to perform corrective maintenance and increase accessibility. An effort was made to keep as much of the trail open and accessible to the public as possible during this renovation, but it was recently closed in its entirety to safely undertake repaving, a park release said. It will remain closed until repaving is completed. The adjacent Gumbo Limbo Trail is open for visitors, and nearby public restrooms also will remain open.
