Yosemite Nature Notes: Soundscapes

Share

While most visitors head to Yosemite National Park to see the majestic landscapes, an often-overlooked element of our connection with nature is the soundscapes – both what you hear and what you don’t.

“These natural sounds aren’t really quiet,” park ranger Karyn O’Hearn says in the latest Yosemite Nature Notes video. “They’re stimulating in a very positive way.”

Yosemite Nature Notes is a video podcast series that tells unique stories about the natural and human history of Yosemite National Park.

This is a wonderful article and video podcast!  Living in a town and working in a large office building in a large city, I hear the "noise" in some form every day, from the moment I wake up to when I finally go to bed.  It's those lovely visits to a national park that de-stress me - not only for the photography but also for the park's geophony and biophany (got those from this video podcast).  I feel that stress and city "grit" wash off me as I envelop myself within the park's sounds.

Very nice, informative too.
