Bryce Canyon National Park, which has offered visitors a shuttle system since 2000, is launching work on a new transportation plan.
The resulting plan is intended to help park managers reduce traffic congestion and parking shortages, increase safety for visitors and staff alike, mitigate or remove impacts to park resources, improve the visitor experience, and improve efficiency of park operations.
While the existing shuttle system has helped with all of those goals, park officials say the transit system is now at or near full capacity during peak visitation periods. The evolving plan is intended to guide transportation systems in the park for the next 20 years.
To solicit public input on how this plan should come together, park officials are offering an open house on Thursday from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. inside the park in Conference Room D on the 4th floor of the Bryce Canyon Visitor Center, located across from the park’s entrance station.
If you go, please inform the ranger at the entrance station and the visitor center you are visiting the park to attend the open house.
