Winter's Not Far Off In Glacier National Park

Fall is fleeting in the Rocky Mountains, as this photo of Heavens Peak in Glacier National Park shows.

Jane Timmerman, whose photography graced the Traveler's homepage back in May, captured the 8,987-foot peak in mid-October. The image hints at winter and conveys a sense of moodiness so evident in the Rockies during the change of seasons.

Ms. Timmerman, who lives in Kalispell, Montana, and is a member of the Glacier Camera Club, showcases much of her work at this site.

Gear: Canon EOS 5D

Jane -

What a wonderful shot - thanks for sharing it!

This is a good reminder that the resources in our parks are worth protecting for all to enjoy.

Jane What a wonderful picture.
Having recently moved from the Flathead I do so miss the Mtns.
Keep them coming.
