Dazzling strokes of Indian paintbrush, daubs of lupine and larkspur, and dashes of primrose will be on display at Cedar Breaks National Monument during its 4th Annual Wildflower Festival next month.
The festival, which runs from July 3 through July 19th, offers a little something for everyone, from wildflower "scavenger hunts" for Junior Rangers to photography workshops and guided hikes.
"During this spectacular display, visitors to the monument will be able to see paintbrush and primrose, lupine and larkspur, and a spectrum of other flowers in meadows, woods, and marshes," says Cedar Breaks Superintendent Paul Roelandt. "We have put together a series of special events and will have park rangers, volunteers, and other resources available for visitors to learn about and photograph the incredible beautiful variety of wildflowers to be discovered at Cedar Breaks."

Beautiful! I have visited Cedar Breaks twice via bicycle. It is truly a natural treasure. The wildflowers were pretty much history when I was there in the fall. It snowed on me both times as I rode over the crest and headed down to Panguich.
Cedar Breaks is one of those treasures often overlooked by people making the Zion - Bryce - North Rim of the Grand Canyon loop.
It's worth a visit - and deserves more than just an hour "passing through."
