Last fall a friend and I spent three days sea kayaking off the coast of Maine. It was a great time, our first in that kind of environment. One tool that made it easier was his GPS unit, a Garmin 60Csx. It came in particularly handy in identifying islands and figuring out where we were in the fog.
I was so impressed with the 60Csx that I recently went out and bought one for myself. Now I'm facing a steep learning curve. Very steep. But I'm looking forward to using it to navigate the national parks' backcountry, particularly on paddling trips where you don't have a particularly easy trail to follow.
If there's anyone out there with experience with the 60CSx I'd be interested in any tips.
