The Yellowstone Association

Is anyone familiar with The Yellowstone Association? I'm interested in learning more about their gift shops within the park itself. Thanks.

I might be able to help you, Steve. What's your question?

How are they affiliated with the Park? I believe they're a great group of folks working for the benefit of Yellowstone but I wasn't sure of their role in running the giftshops. I'd like to approach them with something that might benefit their purpose. Thanks so much.

Basically the association is a nonprofit that works as Yellowstone's public education partner, offering classes in the park, creating exhibits, helping decide which books/publications are sold in the park. They in turn invest their profits back into educational outreach. You can get the official rundown here.

Thank you. That explains why they've purchased one of my journals already. I was just wondering who and what they were. I guess now I'd like to hear some feedback from them. I do hope they like it, of course. I suppose I'll just have to wait and see.
Thanks, Kurt.

Stephen,
I'd say that's pretty good news. It can be terribly difficult to get a book into a national park bookstore/gift shop. What's your journal about? We might want to review it here at the Traveler.

Kurt,
Thanks so much for the interest. I give you my word I was not looking for a review when posing my question, but I'm certainly honored you would consider such.
The journal just came out last October and it allows each holder to capture their own journeys, organized by state. Following is a link to the publisher site where it is offered:

I'll also include a link to a Google map I made showing other locations where it is already for sale.

My favorite just might be the Mark Twain home in Hannibal, MO, but the Presque Ilse State Park in PA also is very cool. There are approximately 130 retail outlets offering the journal, covering 32 states thus far, and I truly belive it's just getting started.
Our goal was to make it a personal lifetime keepsake that is educational, enjoyable, and an enabler of quality time between those of differing age groups and genders.
I sincerely hope you enjoy. Oh, if you want a real copy in order to do a review, please let me know and I'll certainly have one sent to you.
Once again, thanks,
Stephen
