Efforts to bring the rhino back from the brink of extinction have succeeded in South Africa, notably in Kruger National Park, but now officials are moving some rhino out of the park to other locations where it's hoped they would be safer from poachers.

  • Yellowstone National Park employee Kassandra "Kassie" Wieferich was found dead near the Old Faithful Lodge area on August 26. From Twin Bridges, Montana, Wieferich, 21, was reported missing after failing to meet a family member the previous afternoon. This incident remains under investigation by National Park Service park rangers and special agents.
