There was a bomb scare yesterday at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington D.C., which turned out to be a hoax. I don't find this type of story very interesting. By re-reporting it, I feel like I'm giving the jackass who caused this mess more attention than he deserves. I'm only adding it to Park Remark today because I found the photo to be so compelling. It looks like it is taken from the set of a Hollywood movie or something. Two guys dressed in Haz-Mat suits walking the steps in front of an ominous looking Lincoln in the shadows behind them. Credit goes to Gerald Herbert of the AP for this photo. The rest of the story can be read here. Briefly, someone posted a couple notes in the memorial yesterday which read "Do you know what anthrax is?" and "Do you know what a bomb is?" that were next to suspicious looking packages (a coffee cup and a gatorade bottle). The result was that Park Police had to close the memorial and investigate. They found the threat to be a hoax.
