Voyageurs SnowmobilesWith all the debate about the presence of snowmobiles in Yellowstone National Park, I was slightly surprised to read this interesting fact about Voyageurs National Park (found in the Duluth News Tribune this weekend):
Minnesota's only national park, Voyageurs is the only U.S. national park that, by act of Congress, expressly allows snowmobiling. It gets more snowmobile use than any other national park. Snowmobiles are allowed on most of the park's big frozen lakes and on numerous portage trails between the lakes.
