Yosemite High CountryThe New York Times had a terrific article this weekend titled "Discovering a Yosemite Hushed by Winter's Snow" about a little known travel opportunity in the high country of Yosemite National Park. The article follows the author's cross country ski adventure from the Badger Pass parking lot to a place called the Ostrander Ski Hut, nine miles away. I enjoyed reading about her adventure, but I also enjoyed reading about the history of this place. The hut is today managed by the Yosemite Association, and is open December through April.
