Wintry weather conditions have been making the search for two missing backpackers in Glacier National Park particularly difficult, both because of the cold and snow in general and because that snow could be covering up some clues.

Glacier National Park Fund, Glacier Association To Merge

In a move intended to bolster their support and work in behalf of Glacier National Park, the Glacier National Park Fund and the Glacier Association have announced their intentions to merge into the Glacier National Park Conservancy as of January 1, 2013.

The Quartz Creek Fish Barrier Modification and Improvement Project in Glacier National Park was recently completed on Quartz Creek to prevent additional non-native fish from reaching Quartz Lake.

Unless Congress averts a staggering budget "sequestration" early next year the National Park System will be devastated by underfunding that could force the Park Service to shutter more than 100 parks, according to the National Parks Conservation Association.

The body of a 19-year-old Michigan man who failed to return from a rugged backcountry hike in Glacier National Park back in July has been found near Hidden Lake.

The National Park Service will soon issue a prospectus for the major concession contract in Glacier National Park. The prospectus will cover lodging, retail, transportation, and food & beverage services currently operated by Glacier Park, Inc.
