Rim Rock Drive East Hill Closure Extended 11 Days At Colorado National Monument

Rim Rock Drive from just inside the east (Grand Junction) entrance to DS Road in Colorado National Monument has been closed for the last month for reconstruction. The National Park Service and Federal Highways Administration now have agreed to extend the full road closure through May 4. The west entrance, visitor center and 18 miles of Rim Rock Drive remain open.

When founder John Otto first arrived in the Grand Valley in 1906, he combed through the remote canyons like few had ever done before.
