Sea Kayaking Destinations In The National Park System

I've long been a paddler, but primarily of canoes and occasionally rafts. While I have a few times gotten into a sea kayak and paddled away from shore, I never fully embraced the sport. Until now. Having placed an order for a sea kayak worthy of big lakes and ocean waters, while awaiting delivery I naturally turned my attention to where in the National Park System this new hobby would fit. And the results were fairly breathtaking in the parkscapes they entailed.

Flight Of The Toilets Coming To North Cascades National Park

Zion National Park in Utah isn't the only park that requires the help of a helicopter to deal with full toilets. At North Cascades National Park in Washington, the Diablo Lake Overlook will close to all visitors and traffic May 20-22 while crews transport toilet-related materials via helicopter to campsites along Ross Lake.

Washington’s National Park Fund Hosts Annual Spring Fundraiser On April 13

Washington’s National Park Fund will host its annual Spring Dinner and Auction on Saturday, April 13, at Seattle Center’s Fisher Pavilion. Focused on “National Parks, Personal Experiences,” this lively event aims to raise more than $300,000 to support priority park projects in Mount Rainier, North Cascades and Olympic national parks.
