Scientists predict that, thanks to our warming climate, within 25 years Glacier National Park will be without its namesake glaciers.

This short Quicktime video provides visual evidence of what's transpiring at the "crown of the continent" and an interview with Dr. Dan Fagre, an ecologist on the park staff who long has monitored the rivers of ice.

Global warming 'irreversible' for next 1000 years: study

Climate change is "largely irreversible" for the next 1,000 years even if carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions could be abruptly halted, according to a new study led by the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).

Well, I guess we don't have to worry about doing anything about it if it's irreversible for 1000 years! Say goodbye to those glaciers, but enjoy them while they last!

The study, however, is a government report, and the government has been known to be wrong about a few things (Iraq/Katrina/Vietnam/Japanese Internment/Native Americans/ETC).

it is a natural trend. These glaciers disappearing only means sediments of the mountain side will wash out with the water. But don't worry. If al gore is alive to see it the mountain sides will be covered once again along with the entire northern hemisphere. Note- this is what happened before. The ice isn't native there. it will melt and redistribute. If you wana cry that the world around you is changeing just go inside and watch t.v. yes it is sad to see something so ancient leave but the ice has ben melting long before we humans started to industrialize. if it hadn't have melted before we wouldn't have had room to industrialize the americas...
