Quicktime

Just as impressive as Yosemite National Parks cliffs and monoliths are the park's wildflowers. NPS photo.
True, for many the main appeal of Yosemite National Park are the soaring cliffs that frame the Yosemite Valley. But if you pay a little closer attention to the landscape, you'll see its many colorful calling cards.
The park, as this video makes abundantly clear, is a wildflower fan's dreamscape, with hundreds of species daubing reds, pinks, blues, yellows, oranges and other pastel hues across the landscape.
If you're an inveterate flower watcher, there's a wildflower list for the park that you can find on this page. Of course, it'll help if you're fluent with plants' Latin names.

Kurt, I'm absolutely positive Carl Sharsmith would love this piece on the Yosemite wildflowers. Very nicely put together.
