BackCountry.com
Biography
Backcountry.com began in 1996 with two guys and a stack of avalanche beacons in an apartment in Park City, Utah. Our roots were humble, but our vision was clear: to sell the best outdoor gear there is, and to be the best at doing it. We’ve grown since then, but our vision is still 20/20.
We're the place for those who are as intense about their gear as they are about their summit push, project send, or big-mountain line. Selection, service, expertise, and experience are our four middle names.
Our buyers seek and find the best gear for weekend warriors with masochistic tendencies or year-round mountaineering guides. We give you access to the primo picks from top outdoor brands like The North Face and Black Diamond, as well as some hard-to-find brands, like Norrona and Stoic, that you can only buy on Backcountry.com. If you’re full-on obsessed with backpacking, camping, skiing, snowboarding, rock climbing, kayaking, trail running, or mountaineering, our premium gear selection is going to do nothing but fuel the fever.
Our customer service team, the gearheads, are on call 24/7 to help you find what you’re looking for, and our no-questions-asked return policy makes it easy to change your mind or find the right size. Providing an amazing customer experience is our priority. We mean that.
The Backcountry experience doesn’t end with a delivery at your doorstep. We want you to tell us about your gear and how you’re using it. You’re the experts and we want your opinions, and so do the rest of our customers. Our on-site Community is a place to share your reviews, questions, answers, and personal photos. The more you share, the more
information other customers have to help them pick what’s right for them — and that’s just a win-win for everybody.
