If you enjoy looking at wildflowers, and you're handy with a camera, you might want to enter the annual wildflower poster art contest at Cedar Breaks National Monument.
Park officials are accepting entries through the end of April. The winning photo will be used for the poster that promotes Cedar Breaks' annual Wildflower Festival, which is held in July. This year the festival is scheduled for July 2-18 and will feature wildflower walks, scavenger hunts for youngsters, and guided wildflower photography walks.
Entries will be judged by a committee comprised by botanists, college professors, members of the Cedar City Arts Council, and, of course, representatives from the national monument. The winning entry will land a $100 prize. For more details and an entry form, visit this page. There's a link near the bottom for the competition submission rules.
