Even if Congress finds a way to keep the federal government operating beyond midnight, part of the Going-to-the-Sun Road in Glacier National Park still might be closed Tuesday...due to snow.

Snow led to a partial closure of the road on Monday, prompting park crews to close the road at the Loop on the west side of the park.

Weather conditions Monday along the higher elevations of the Going-to-the-Sun Road generated 30-40 mph winds at Big Bend, slush and icy conditions on the road, cloudy and limited visibility, and snow accumulations of more than 8 inches at Logan Pass.
