Traveler Members, Dive Into Parkipedia!

Share

It's the weekend, and if you're a National Parks Traveler member with some time on your hands, please jump into the Parkipedia section and start building park guides! To reach it, click on the "Member Area" button on the menu to reach the welcome page.

Traveler's Parkipedia is one of the prime benefits of being a member, and lets you share the knowledge you've accumulated from years of park visits.

We've created the template for you to fill in or follow in creating new park guides. Currently, we've started templates for all 59 "national parks" plus the Blue Ridge Parkway, Appalachian National Scenic Trail, Cape Hatteras National Seashore, and Cape Lookout National Seashore.

Standard categories for each unit ranges from a park "overview" and "history" down through lodging, camping, hiking, wildlife, dining, gateway towns, and resources. They're not finite; if there's a logical topic we've overlooked, please add it.

A basic primer for building the guides can be found on the main page of the Parkipedia. The Arches National Park guide has had a lot of work done to it, and can serve as an example. If you can't figure something out, in the member's forum there's a special queue for Parkipedia questions.

Please, don't be bashful, dive in. This is a collaborative effort that all will benefit from!
