Joshua Tree National Park Campgrounds Reopen For The Season

While more than a few parks are winding down their high seasons and getting ready to ease into the winter months, at Joshua Tree National Park in California the high season is coming and to prepare the park has reopened all of its campgrounds.

These include:

Campsites at Indian Cove and Black Rock campgrounds may be reserved in advance online. To check availability and make a reservation, visit www.recreation.gov. At all other campgrounds, sites are first-come, first-served. Backcountry camping is also permitted in the park and requires campers to register at a backcountry board. Campsites must be at least one mile from a road and 500 feet from any trail. Campfires are not permitted in the backcountry.

Ranger-led tours of Keys Ranch will resume on October 17 and will be offered on Fridays and Saturdays at 2 p.m. and Sundays at 10 a.m. Reservations are required and can be made by telephone at 760-367-5522.
