Traveler Experiences Technical Meltdown

Share

Well, readers, as you might have guessed, the Traveler had a pretty extreme technical meltdown this afternoon. Fortunately, it's back and running. Unfortunately, it lost two days' worth of copy...and comments. We can somewhat easily replace the copy, but not so easily replace the comments.

Fortunately, the meltdown didn't affect the new site, which is oh-so-close to being ready to launch, and it has all the copy (and comments) that the existing site lost. The two sites are built on slightly different software architectures, so we can't simply swap content back and forth and expect it to appear perfectly. So, please bear with us as we reload the past two days' worth of stories.

Also, we're going to shut off comments for the time being so things don't get out of context when the new site launches. Thanks for your patience.

Thank you Traveler, thanks for all the good work.

Kurt, I think we'll all survive.  Might be hard, but we can probably make it.

Thanks for all you and your crew do.

Ahh the wonderful and sometimes frustrating world of webdev.

Welcome back.
