In the spirit of promoting technology in local schools, Buffalo National River recently donated 47 computers, 20 monitors, 12 laptops, and a server to the Ozark Mountain School District. Federal agencies are encouraged to donate surplus computers and associated equipment to educational organizations.

“Ozark Mountain School District would like to thank the Buffalo National River for their generous donation of technology. Their continued support enables us to further our mission in bettering and educating the children of this district," said Ozark Mountain School District Superintendent Kerry Saylors. "Buffalo National River truly has made a difference in the lives of the kids we serve."

The donated computers are going to be installed in the business classrooms at the Western-Grove and Bruno-Pyatt campuses. This upgrade will ensure that the needs of the students are met for the school year.

"It really is a great pleasure to be able to help the schools in the Ozark Mountain School District by donating the park's excess computers through the Computers for Learning Program," said Buffalo National River Superintendent Mark Foust. "The chance to help these rural schools and the students in our communities is one of the best things we can do. The National Park Service mission to protect and provide for the enjoyment of Buffalo River includes education. Helping students with access to computers and more learning opportunities online is a major step toward that goal."
