Rangers Investigating Deadly Fall At Grand Canyon National Park

Grand Canyon National Park rangers are trying to determine the cause of a fall that killed a young Phoenix man near the bottom of the South Kaibab Trail.

Jaiquan Carter, 23, fell about 80 feet Tuesday morning above the Black Bridge. He was believed to be on a day hike, a park release said.

An investigation into the incident was being conducted by the National Park Service in coordination with the Coconino County Medical Examiner’s Office.
