Horse Pasture Fire At Theodore Roosevelt National Park 90 Percent Contained

Firefighters on the 5,000-acre Horse Pasture Fire at Theodore Roosevelt National Park in North Dakota on Sunday received aid from light rain.

By the time morning dawned Sunday the fire had had containment lines etched around 90 percent of its footprint. With the weather forecast calling for rain and maybe snow continuing into Tuesday, the size of the firefighting crew was being decreased.

The fire was spotted Saturday in the Little Missouri National Grassland and burned into the North Unit of the national park. Its cause was under investigation.
