Waterton Lakes National Park is looking for volunteers to help with its Christmas Bird Count.

It's asking people to come any time on Dec. 16 for the main count day, or thoughout count week from Dec. 13 to 19.

People count the species seen or heard, not individual birds. They must email [email protected] to sign up.

For those who are new to birdwatching, the Alberta park offers these tips. More in-depth information is on the Nature Alberta website. People should download the Merlin Bird ID app to help identify birds you see or hear while birding.
