Full Moon Tours Take Visitors To Top Of Cape Hatteras Lighthouse At Night

This summer, rangers at Cape Hatteras National Seashore in North Carolina will lead Full Moon Tours up 257 steps to the lantern room for a unique nighttime experience.

Cape Hatteras National Seashore Readies Closures To Protect Shorebird Nests

As shorebirds prepare to nest on beaches at Cape Hatteras National Seashore, several areas of the park will be deemed temporarily off-limits to protect the breeding habitat. These pre-nesting areas will be marked by April 15 and are not expected to impede off-road vehicle or pedestrian access.

Cape Hatteras National Seashore Announces Off-Road Vehicle Permit Print-At-Home Option

Beginning in mid-March, if you want an off-road vehicle permit for Cape Hatteras National Seashore in North Carolina, you'll be able to print one at home. Seashore officials say the changes are being made to increase user convenience, provide new options for park visitors wishing to purchase an ORV permit, and increase efficiency by reducing the cost associated with collecting permit fees.
