Concerns about catching Covid-19 during cross-country travel don't seem to have left national parks to the locals. While overall visitation to many parks is lower than usual for this time of year, statistics provided to the U.S. Travel Association show many people are traveling hundreds of miles across state lines to visit the parks.

Politics and a lack of sound science played roles in the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's attempt to remove Endangered Species Act protections from Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem grizzlies, a unanimous 9th U.S. Circuit Court ruled Wednesday in upholding a lower court's decision that blocked the delisting.

While the Tetons contain some of the oldest rocks in North America, they are the youngest mountains in the Rockies, at a mere 10 million years in age. In this national park, you can float the Snake River, watch bison grazing and sparring against a background of jagged mountains, and "walk through a historic landmark district." Oh, and the photo ops are pretty fantastic, too.

Details Beginning To Surface On How National Parks Will Reopen

Weather is warming across the country, and desires to get outside and into the National Park System are growing, but exactly how parks will go about reopening continues to be a work in progress not entirely ready for public disclosure. At least one major park concessionaire, unable to safely house workers, announced Tuesday that two of its lodges in Grand Teton National Park are not expected to open this year.
