You still have time to help the Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation land $300,000 from an anonymous donor for projects on the Blue Ridge Parkway. But time is running out, and the foundation must match the entire $300,000 to land the financial aid.
Once upon a time, national park friends groups raised money to provide a "margin of excellence" for their parks. Unfortunately, as Congressional appropriations have lagged, more and more friends organizations are being asked to provide support for projects that once were covered through a park's operational budget.
Among its campaigns, the Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation is raising money to pay to repair and restore eroded hiking trails and worn-out boardwalks, as well as campgrounds, picnic areas, and restrooms that have gone from rustic to rundown. Overlooks are overgrown. Trail signs and historical markers along the parkway are damaged or even missing.
This past fall the foundation launched the Trails & Views Forever Fund to revitalize trails, picnic areas, campgrounds, overlooks, and additional places that provide opportunities for all visitors to immerse themselves in this breathtaking landscape.
This is just the beginning of the Trails & Views Forever Fund. The foundation has a long-term goal of raising $3 million to rehab trails, clear obscured overlooks, repair picnic areas and campgrounds, and more.
The $300,000 challenge grant would be a huge leg up on this goal. Ensure outdoor adventures on the Blue Ridge Parkway continue for generations to come by making a donation today.

As a Canadian who travels the planet, I fell in love with the BRP decades ago. I've traveled it mile post by mile post, and supported it, many times. However, if the American people want a White House that wants to abandon the BRP, who am I to get in the way? Shoud the POTUS support it, I'll be back there again. Until then, I'll just offer my prayers.
