The view from the Glacier Bay webcam at Bartlett Cove can be outstanding...on clear days. The top photo was from Monday morning, the bottom photo shows what things look like on clear days. The tagged mountains are, left to right, Mount La Perouse, Mount Crillon, Mount Bertha, and Mount Fairweather. NPS images, bottom photo by T. VandenBerg.
Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve is a hard place to reach any time of year, let alone the fall. But that doesn't mean you can't glimpse this beautiful corner of Alaska.
Park crews recently installed a webcam at Bartlett Cove just down the hill from the Glacier Bay Lodge. The image refreshes every 30 seconds, although on foggy or cloudy days that really won't change what you see by much. But on clear days...well, the view can be outstanding, as the accompanying photo shows.
You can find the webcame at this page of the park's website.
