"The expansive views from Hudson Point is a special thrill for those visiting Parashant. The roads in this area are generally suitable for most 4x4 pickups and SUVs unless washed out by a storm. The BLM1003 road in Hidden Canyon is susceptible to washouts that can make the road impassible for all but UTVs. Contact us at the number at the bottom of the page to see if roads in this area have been washed out."

"This area is a geological gem, providing great vantage points on the rim of the colorful rocks of the Grand Wash Cliffs. The rim of the cliffs, 3,000 or more feet above the Pakook Basin, mark the boundary between the Colorado Plateau and the Basin and Range. At the rim look for fossils in the Permian age Kaibab limestone. The Pakoon Basin below Hudson Point is widening every year. It's western half is being pulled west by the movement of magma many miles below the basin. The basin is stretching over a centimeter wider each year."
