Biography

Dr. Patricia Owens is a retired history professor who lives in Illinois. She earned a Ph.D. in history from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, a M.A. in American Studies from the University of Wyoming, a M.A. in history from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, a M.S. in forestry from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale and a B.A. in history and political science from Illinois State University.

Dr. Owens has been a seasonal NPS employee at George Rogers Clark NHP and the Lincoln Home NHS. She worked two summers for Hamilton Stores in Yellowstone National Park, one summer for the Yellowstone Association and two summers in the Yellowstone Archives/Library. This past year she served as a member of the T. A. Moulton Barn Centennial Celebration Committee, Grand Teton National Park. Dr. Owens has published several articles and her areas of study and research are Lincoln and the American West.
