If you've got a stand, pro or con, on personal watercraft, the folks at Cape Lookout National Seashore in North Carolina wouldn't mind hearing from you. The seashore is proposing to reinstate PWC access to ten defined special use areas within its boundaries.
However, PWCs would be allowed inside those areas only when remaining perpendicular to the shore and operating at flat-wake speed. You can check out the proposed rule here. Comments may be submitted via the NPS's regulations portal or by mail to the park superintendent at 131 Charles Street, Harkers Island, N.C., 28531.
Comments are being accepted through February 27, 2006.
